I don't play console games, but mostly because I'm not crazy about console controllers. I'm a big fan of the WASD/mouse interface and it's one of the things I'm pretty stubborn about, so there are things I miss out on. Black is one of them, although I have toyed with it on a friend's Xbox. If they release it for PC, you probably won't see me for a few weeks. Someone referred to it as "gun porn" and I would say that that is not an unreasonable categorization.

Another thing I missed is Kingdom Hearts, and now KH2. Here we have another game that is testing my resolve. For one thing it's very pretty, and it looks like the sort of thing I could enjoy with my son. Also it has this song in it, which makes me not only want to play the game, but also learn to speak Japanese. Thanks Tycho, you insidious bastard.

I have been playing Throne of Darkness, a derivative of Diablo with a "seven samurai" feel. It's definitely a fun way to scratch the old D&D itch without having to pay a monthly fee (I have very pointedly stayed the hell away from EQ and WOW because it's important for me to spend time with my kids). Joseph loves climbing on the back of my chair and watching me slice up mythical beasts and evil henchmen of the dark warlord, and he takes special glee in the finding of rare and valuable items. I suspect this might be the beginning of an obsession.
